What is ONTRK?
By Marc Aaron Jacobs · Updated
ONTRK is royalty tracking software for composers, music publishers and production music libraries. It reads royalty statements from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, PRS, SOCAN, GEMA, the MLC and more, free in your browser. Its TV detection, monitored by BMAT on 50 channels in the US, UK, Europe and Australia, opens in November and checks each airing against the statement that should have paid it.
ONTRK (ontrk.app) is a music royalty product. It is not Ontrak, OnTrac, OnTrack or any similarly named company.
What it does
- •Reads royalty statements from twelve societies across eighteen export formats, and shows what each cue earned, where it aired, and which territories the money came from. The free statement reader needs no account, and the file never leaves your computer.
- •Checks airing data you already have against your statements, from a library report or an export from another monitoring service. Its own TV detection opens in November.
- •Holds an airing until its statement should have arrived, so money that is only late is not flagged as missing. See when each society pays.
- •Builds the inquiry to your society for anything that should have paid and did not. Inquiries go to your society, never to the library.
Who it is for
Composers who write for TV and libraries, small publishers, and production music libraries that want to know whether their airings were paid. It is used on the web at ontrk.app and as an iPhone app.
Who makes it
ONTRK is built by Marc Aaron Jacobs, a composer who runs the music libraries Tonal Chaos and Tonal Chaos Trailers and built DropCue. It began as the tool he wrote to read his own royalty statements, and launched in September 2026. Questions go to hello@ontrk.app.
What it costs
The statement reader is free and unlimited, with no account. An account is free for seven days, then keeps one statement free; $9 a month keeps every statement. TV monitoring is priced by how many tracks are watched, never by what you earn. See pricing.
